The Watcher in the Wings is a god of performance.

Description[]
The god's followers are more or less trapped in its service but who, in return, possess incredible powers to change reality in their vicinity to align with the plot of the "play" they are perpetuating in order to entertain the Watcher.[2]
The Watcher is most pleased by tragedy, especially macabre performances resulting in sacrificial offerings. When it is pleased, the Watcher may applaud. The sound of applaud is reminiscent of the sound of countless flapping wings.[2]
Notable Events[]
- Paige and Hayward have an encounter with the Watcher in the Wings and its servant Hembry, a former coworker of Page's. They very nearly do not survive the encounter, and its only Paige's quick wit and calm under pressure that saves them. Hayward is wounded by the encounter and Paige brings him to safety. It's this interaction that lays the foundation for their later friendship. [2]
